for thousands of years, clay and charcoal have been used to cleanse the body. the combination of these elements compliment each other perfectly.

bentonite clay from the aztec region is made from ancient volcanic ash. the clay had a slight cooling , anti inflammatory effect as well as exfoliating leaving the skin clean and smooth. the clay absorbs dirt , unwanted fat and toxins from the cells. after even one treatment a noticeable different is made.

in modern day beauty society we see charcoal added to face masks , toothpastes and body scrubs for its brightening effect on the skin pulling toxins and other impurities from the cells and pores. charcoal reduces excess oil and tightens the pores. it’s a dense source of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen containing over 120 mineral elements, some being quartz, kaolinite, illite, montmorillonite, chlorite, pyrite, calcite, and siderite. 

charcoal has the ability to bring the body and mind into harmonic balance. i make this charcoal myself at home outside under the stars with fire and wild wood (: 

item amount 1.5 ounces dry

organic ingredients: aztec bentonite clay, charcoal, sage & clove

how to use: mix a small amount of powder with water until a paste is formed . spread thinly over clean the skin in desired area and massage gently in circles for a few minutes. then, allow the mask to dry completely. to remove, use a washcloth with cold or lukewarm water .. gently rehydrate the clay and wipe away . apply a small amount of oil to protect the fresh skim
